		<description>Jane, one of the simplest ways to expand Maine&#039;s economy is to &quot;get government out of the way,&quot; as Peter would say. Our regulatory environment is cumbersome and confusion. Other means of expanding the economy as laid out in Peter&#039; plan include:

Prioritizing infrastructure - the cost savings can be achieved through trimming duplicate services and making our delivery of human services more efficient.

The Fund of Funds - attracting private venture capital with state backing.

Lowering electricity rates - we already produce more power than we use, why are our rates the highest in the nation? Poor negotiation. If Hydro-Quebec wants to run power through Maine we should benefit. If wind power producers want to use our mountaintops, we should benefit. Negotiating lower electricity rates will encourage business growth.
